Sien day, i’m working on an algorithm to compare html template similarity using the HTML DOM tree, its been nearly 80 hours for thinking and brainstorming, and it seems this method is getting dimmer than ever.
What i’m trying to build is a Search Engine, from a crawler to result page. Kinda stuck somewhere at the data processing. Stripping html, structuring groups of data and identify the key topic of a page is not as easy as it seems. All were PROBLEMS!!!!!

Investment -Â the investing of money or capital in order to gain profitable returns, as interest, income, or appreciation in value.Â
One of the easy way of saying it as:
Purchase it at lower price and sell it at higher price, that is a Successful Investment.
And to achieve that, it oftens follows these rules:
When supply is High and Demand is Low: Price drops
When supply is Low and Demand is High: Price climbs
When supply is High and Demand is High: The bubble is building
When supply is Low and Demand is Low: Some sees it as an explored market.
But how to spot when a bubble burst is going to burst?
Its not difficult, When you see more and more irrelevant people outside the game field are joining the game, this highly indicate the bubble is expanding out of control, and will blow up soon. my advice, Sell off everything on hand.
Its all crap! actually i knows nothing about Investment….

Did your credit card ever being fraud over the Internet?
From the old days, a credit card can be easily fraud if you have a Credit Card Number(16 digits) + Expiry Date(12×6 possible combination). Once it hits you, you will be required to file a police report before you can submit fraud cancellation request to the bank.
Securing your credit card is essential, all the information printed on the card are sufficient to perform Internet transaction. That’s why you must be very caution on people that knows your family member and had easy access to your card. Often suspectable online merchant can also easily re-use your credit card details. You can never control the usage of the card after being exposed to these parties unless you get a new card replacement, that will be so much trouble.
Let me introduce AmBank NexG Prepaid MasterCard!!! Yes, It’s prepaid, and it’s MasterCard! It works exactly like debit card, while u can swipe at any MasterCard merchant. I got this packet from 7-Eleven store for RM25 (so far only available at klang valley).
Other than the card and a bunch of registration forms, I also get this long list of promotions voucher, it’s worth a purchase
So far I had tested this card to get my new domain name call thekilobytes.net. The charges are quite..hmm..Expendsive!.
Â
Â
OnlineCharges = (Price * ExchangeRate) + (1% of Price) + (RM 1)
Monthly = RM 3 <-- The one only thing that I hate.
With prepaid balance cannot drop below zero. I’m considerably safe from Internet fraud: p

Have you ever heard of Google Video?
I heard about this service last year, but i did not pay much attention about it. It used to be an unpopular, buggy (VLC based) player and not much content (comparing with youtube).
The for the past few days i started play with this google video’s service, it offers an standalone player for people who wanna download and watch the video offline! There is alot of videos here today, here is some of my picks:
- Google’s Office
- Tech Talks
- Something about Gyro
- Trailler: World Trade Center (Screening on Oct)
- Mythbusters Live (LOL!)
i’m gonna be addicted to is the Google Tech Talk session. There are tons of interesting technical topics to be discussed about, which i’m sure 95% people in this world may not understand to it. (i’m 5% =p) There is about 140+ of them, so it will took me about 1 year to digest them all.
About the player, hmmm……. yeap, Today Google Video Player is nice and neat. It shows thumbnails, streaming, save to harddrive and etc….blah blah blah…
BTW one cool stuff from the player is saving the video into harddrive! It saves the stream in gvi format, which equivalent to an avi file (yea, i checked the header. RIFF.. DIVx..). This means this gvi file will be backward compatible with our Windows Media Player! Playable on my HTPC!
Â
Ok, today i watched this one, Debugging Backwards in time (took me 8 hours to complete this freaking ~60 minutes tech talk), I love Bil did this talk with his props! haha! I wish i had done that kind of presentation during my degree. He reminds me of Juan Tamariz.
Next week (may be 2)Â i’m gonna start posting some of my magic video, so stay tune guys!

If you toss a coin up and catch it, what would it be? is it a Head, or Tail? The chances is believe to be 50/50. But knowing that does not tells you anything about what most likely to occur next. My goal is to find some sort of ways to solve this problem, guessing what will occur in the next event based on a series of past histories.
Indepth:
For the coin scenario, getting a head and tail are in equal chance. But if you get a head, it does not mean that you can get a tail right away. Only after a number attempt, you probably get the occurance of head and the occurance of tail are close to 50/50. This tells us altough we know that the probability is 50/50, there is a certain bias of result, called variance (I know nothing about this equation, its just a term that people used).
To find out what most likely to occur next, we cannot rely on the figure from probability alone, we need to make use of Probability + Variance + History Samples + Distribution Curves. I try to study more on these before i can continue my ultimate goal!
Lets skip all the stories and here some facts…
- After a certain number attempts of coing tossing, we will come to a conclusion of 50/50 chances: Yes
- Measuring the frequency of occurance, We find a graph that closely matches to a halflife curve: f(x)=f(x-1)/2.
- What is the best value for numbers of attempt suitable to be used to determin a good samples size?: Not known yet
More comming soon.

Anyone still remember the old days of Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)? About 15 years back, we need one of these…

to play some of these…

Â
Then a few years back we can see NES ROM games emulators such as Nestopia, FCE Ultra. At that time i was kinda like, WOW a Nintendo on PC! Well why not, PC has alot more processing power of course.
But today is diffrent, while i was searching for some utility for my Phone, I come across this vNes. vNes is a java based software that emulate NES rom files on a a mobile phone. So far its the fastest emulator available, they also develope a PDA version of vNes.
Â
Performance are acceptable. But if you do had a slower phone, no worries, they do allow frame skip for slower phones. Another cool thing is it allows fullscreen, and screen rotate mode to suite some of the phone.
Â
Here is the drawbacks: The Java version of the emulator does not support sound, and the colour seems very limited to like 16 colours????
Oh yah, not to forgot, this emulator only works well with devices that has at least 7 buttons, because it doesn’t works on my father’s touchscreen PDA =p.
